Quill CEO Ed Bussey shortlisted for ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ title at Heropreneurs Awards
We’re delighted to announce that our CEO and Founder, Ed Bussey, has been named a finalist in the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ category at the 2019 Heropreneurs Awards.
The Heropreneurs Awards, in association with The Telegraph, celebrates the success and entrepreneurial spirit of ex-members – and their families – of the Armed Forces. The awards are held on 7 November at Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London.
There are 11 categories – each one recognising and rewarding the achievements of those people who spent their careers protecting and caring for this country and who, since leaving the Armed Forces, have gone on to successful careers outside the military services.
The ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ category, for which Ed has been shortlisted, is a new addition for 2019, and is intended to recognise entrepreneurs who have demonstrated significant success in business over the past 12 months, whether in terms of growth and profitability or flexibility and overcoming challenges.
After an international education, Ed began his career in the Royal Navy, where he achieved one of the highest Admiralty Interview Board scores on record. Following this, Ed held various high level security and counter-terrorism appointments around the world with the UK diplomatic service. He saw service over 14 years in the Middle East, Falklands and the US.
Since leaving the military, Ed has been responsible for the successful launches of three digital start-ups – most recently Quill, which was acquired in May by leading French media and technology group, Webedia.
Quill has been ranked among the fastest-growing companies in Europe as part of the 2018 Financial Times 1000 listing, and was named ‘Ecommerce Agency of the Year’ at the 2018 Ecommerce Awards.
